The Samoa International Finance Authority (“SIFA”) hosted a course on International Estate Planning and Structuring (“IEPS”), led by Mr. Thomas Mark Lea. In today’s increasingly globalized world, effective estate planning requires a deep understanding of international laws, taxation and wealth transfer strategies, thus the IEPS Training was timely to equip local professionals with the skills to offer expert advice to potential clients overseas and generate more domestic business. The 8-day training program was attended by local accountants, lawyers, Trustee company service providers, and select SIFA staff members, providing an opportunity to network and discuss relevant topics.
The morning session catered to these professionals, while the afternoon sessions was designed as a capacity building platform for SIFA staff members from the Business Development, Registration, Compliance and Finance teams.
The International Estate Planning and Structuring Training was well received by participants, providing timely and important knowledge and strategies for managing wealth. We believe, a strong network and collaboration with local professionals and the private sector will ensure the opportunities arising from wealth management are well-utilized in the future.
