The Samoa IBFC Universal Weightlifting Cup 2026, held in Samoa from 25 April to 1 May 2026 at the Tuanaimato Sports Complex, concluded on a high note. As the Naming Rights Sponsor, the Samoa International Business Finance Centre (IBFC) is proud to have played a key role in bringing this landmark event to life.
The competition welcomed athletes and officials from around the world, highlighting Samoa’s capability to host events of an international standard while boosting its global profile. Exceptional performances defined the tournament, with several Commonwealth and Oceania records broken, reflecting the elite level of competition and reinforcing Samoa’s position on the world sporting stage.
In addition to its sponsorship role, Samoa IBFC together with staff of its parent company, Samoa International Finance Authority, actively contributed as a member of the Organizing Committee, supporting logistics and coordination to ensure the event ran seamlessly. Samoa IBFC also hosted a Cocktail Reception on 28 April 2026 at the Taumeasina Island Resort, attended by government representatives, SIFA stakeholders, and international weightlifting delegates. The event provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate Samoa’s successful hosting of the Cup and to strengthen relationships with partners both locally and abroad.
